Technology in this present Generation: Maximize the benefits of technology but run from its danger

The term, ''Technology,'' according to MerriamWebsters' Dictionary, is the practical application of knowledge, especially in the particular area; a capability given by the practical application of knowledge; a manner of accomplishing a tast, especially using technical processes, methods or knowledge.
  1. Technology is simply means: the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry.
    "advances in computer technology"
    1. machinery and devices developed from scientific knowledge.
    2. "it will reduce the industry's ability to spend money on new technology"
    3. the branch of knowledge dealing with engineering or applied sciences.

  2. Examples of technology in a sentence

    1. One by one, the pieces take flight: a parachute, the stowed Martian balloon—a Montgolfiere hot-air type, named for the French brothers who pioneered the technology in 1782—and a sensor package with guidance system, radio transmitter, and video camera. —Joe Pappalardo,Air & Space, June/July 2006
    2. There's no question the industry has been subjected to a great deal of competitive pressure over the past decade or so, with promises of more to come as the Internet and wirelesstechnology transform the way Americans receive news and information. —Wall Street Journal, 14 Mar. 2006
    3. The rapid shift in technology over the last 10 years has created an entirely new world in which viruses can replicate. While in 1989, viruses were primarily spread by “sneakernet,” as users walked diskettes from machine to machine, modern viruses … are capable of spreading around the world in the blink of a digital eye. —Sarah Gordon, Information Security, November 1999
    4. … all technology and energy revving up for the greatest clash of arms in history. —William Styron, This Quiet Dust And Other Writings, (1953) 1982
    5. Recent advances in medical technology have saved countless lives.
    6. Benefits of Advancement in Technology to this Generation

    7. The modern age is doubtless characterized by amazing modern age doubtless characterized by amazing technological advancement in information, communication, science, education, etc. in information and communication technology (ICT), the smartphone, tablets, computer and the internet is referred to as information ''superhighway,'' probably because of the speed and efficiency with which it processes information. Medicine, among other scientific fields, has witnessed tremendous breakthroughs with lots of benefit to humanity. Education has been relatively made easy in this modern time with online resource, academic programs and materials such as online degree programs and materials, distant learning, e-classes, e-books, and portable document format (pdf). knotty human problems are being solved through advancement in technology.
    8.       Without doubt, there has been a remarkable shift from the stone, iron and Bronze Ages (as the past generations are now called) to the jet, Digital or Modern Age characterized by military weapons and the use of technological devices. Dangerous weapons of war such as Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs), nuclear warheads and drones, which destroy human lives are produced by powerful nations of the world to destroy enemy nations. Technological devices like aircrafts, robots and automobiles are also being built.
    9.      Of all the technology development of the modern world, Information and Communication Technology(ICT) seems to be the most notable and widespread. It affects every sphere of life including education, banking, trading, entertainment, government and the military. ICT is one major area of breakthrough in the 21st century. With the development of ICT, humanity now enjoys more comfort and ease with faster speed in accomplishing tasks

    10.     ICT has made the world a global village. Chiefs among its tremendous benefits are the internet (and its Word Wide Web component) and the cell phone. Communication and transportation costs have been drastically cut because communication is made cheaper through the internet, especially the social media. You can now access life-transforming information through email, YouTube, instant messaging, blogging, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and video conferencing in the comfort of your room or office. Distance is no longer a barrier as you can have current news at your fingertips. Most importantly, large materials such as photos, music and videos can be uploaded anywhere or to anyone in the world as well as dowloaded from any site on the Net for personal consumption or other purposes. Isn't that amazing?
    11.      In addition, the internet is highly commercially maximized. Aside from the production of business facilitating modern machines, internet (or online) marketing is becoming more rampant in this present generation. Internet shopping and banking is getting more popular by the day. Knowing this, a lot of people and Organisation have taken their businesses online. This has helped to reduced cost, remove the distance barrier and reach wider range of customers or consumers.
    12.     The global influence of technology on education at all levels is also apparent. Since Pressey's epoch-making development of the first teaching aids like audio and video tape recorders, overhead projectors, video projectors and computers have been developed. How else could distance learning have been made possible if not through the influence of technology? it has also become easier and time saving to assess students with computer software. Even people with disabilities no longer have to panic over how to acquire formal education in the face of assistive technologies like mechanical and non-mechanical, electronic and non-electronic aids among other specialized instructional materials. More Importantly, academic research is now relatively easier than the previous generation since academic materials are abundantly available on the internet generally and internet library in particular.
    13.       In today's world, where just about everything is more convenient and accessible due to advances in technology across almost all sectors, it may seem as though it's a misnomer to even mention any disadvantages of technological advances. However, despite how far technology has taken humans and no matter how convenient it may make things, there are some disadvantages accompanying this level of access.

Advantage: Great Discoveries In All Industries

Technology advances show people a more efficient way to do things, and these processes get results. For example, education has been greatly advanced by the technological advances of computers. Students are able to learn on a global scale without ever leaving their classrooms. Agricultural processes that once required dozens upon dozens of human workers can now be automated, thanks to advances in technology, which means cost-efficiency for farmers. Medical discoveries occur at a much more rapid rate, thanks to machines and computers that aid in the research process and allow for more intense educational research into medical matters.

      Disadvantage: Dependency

The more advanced society becomes technologically, the more people begin to depend on computers and other forms of technology for everyday existence. This means that when a machine breaks or a computer crashes, humans become almost disabled until the problem is resolved. This kind of dependency on technology puts people at a distinct disadvantage, because they become less self-reliant.

      Advantage: Cost Efficiency

Cost efficiency is an advantage in some ways and a disadvantage in others. As technology improves on existing processes and showcases new ways to accomplish tasks, machines are able to produce the same -- if not more -- output than humans in certain industries. This results in cost savings for business owners, allowing them to invest in growth in other areas of the business, which contributes on a positive level to the economy as a whole.

Disadvantage: Less Value In Human Workers

At the same time, human workers retain less value, which is a disadvantage of technological advances. Because machines automate processes and do the work of 10 people with one computer, companies find they don't need to employ as many people to get the job done. As machines and computers become even more advanced and efficient, this will continue to be a growing disadvantage of technology and an issue that has a global impact.
